2026 Oregon General Election key dates
Ballots are mailed to voters on October 14. Ballots must be returned to an Official County Dropbox by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, or postmarked by Election Day.
Important mail by notice: The U.S. Post Office has changed its “postmark policy,” so make sure you give them extra time to process your ballot in time for Election Day. The Oregon Secretary of State's Office encourages voters returning their ballots by mail to do so 7 days before Election Day, which is Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Your safest bet is to drop your ballot at an official drop box the week leading up to the election. Find official County dropbox locations here.

The 2026 elections will be incredibly meaningful to the future of our region. Voters in Portland and Multnomah County will use ranked-choice voting to select their preferred candidates.
